The Icon Wine
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. It is born on the southern coast of Tuscany, in Pereta, just twenty minutes from the sea. Two vineyards, four parcels, two complementary soil types. The historic core of the estate consists of three parcels known as “Saffredi”, characterized by sandy soils low in organic matter. A second 12‑hectare plot also hosts the Petit Verdot, with vines rooted in tuff‑rich soils streaked with red clay. The west/northwest‑facing rows enjoy sunsets over the sea and the salty breeze rising from the coast. Altitudes reaching up to 280 meters ensure surprisingly cool nights.
After meticulous selection in the vineyard and in the cellar, Saffredi matures for 18 months in French oak barriques and refines for up to 6 months in bottle before release.
