The story of this wine begins in 1996, when Elisabetta Geppetti acquired a magnificent vineyard that soon revealed its remarkable vocation for Sangiovese, the noble grape of Tuscany. With the addition of two new parcels planted over the years, the Poggio Valente vineyard now expresses its full personality, with an elegance and character that reflect the estate’s winemaking philosophy.
After fermentation in temperature‑controlled stainless steel, Poggio Valente matures for 15 months: 25% in large 20 hl French oak casks and the remaining 75% in French oak tonneaux of 500 and 600 liters.
